I wonder if anyone is truly ready for parenthood. I get freaked out that I've been a bad pet owner, forget that I'm expected to raise a productive member of society. 

I also start school tomorrow. Many may think this to be an insane decision. They may be right, but I really do need external pressures. I'm also told breastfeeding is a great time to read books since you're not going anywhere.

I think that you will find for the first month or so you will be lucky to have time to shower and eat let alone school! School+new born=stress and stress=bad! I would give yourself at least a month of "baby only" time to adjust to your baby and get to bond with him/her. Also to get you daily routine down as babies like to change routine in unexpected ways.

Try not to worry about the whole "this is a person" part just yet. I was stressed to the max the two weeks before I had Alex and looking back now it was silly to worry about it all then.

I was never any good at the one handed breast feeding while the other hand does something else. Breast feeding wasn't as easy as I had thought and it took both my hands and a big pillow to get it done.

You will do fine and I'm free if you need any help-before or after the baby!

I know the first month is going to be rough... but that's only a small percentage of the classes for the semester, and I want to give Josh the chance to have baby-only time. I'm pretty used to "self-directed learning" because of the chronic illness and my professors have usually been pretty good about overlooking my shoddy attendance once they see the quality of my written work. Truth be told, I read 80% of the course material in November and December, so I think it should be manageable especially with Josh around.

Besides, I'm going to have a perfect baby that sleeps angelically and keeps a routine ;p
