My mother has informed me that if I make any more money than I'm making right now she'll smother me in my sleep the next time I stay over at my parent's house.

Supportive only goes so far it seems.

You could totally be Klingon about it and smother her first...then take over the household.

You could be poetic about it, smother her and then leave the difference between what she makes in a year and what you do in her hand.
