My mom is trying to get rid of me!
She just sent me job openings in PEI. She said I'd like it there.
She also said after 4 years of Ottawa winters, I wouldn't mind the weather.

If you both have jobs going into it that might be workable. If you can cope with the "Island Way of Life" you should be fine.
Word of caution... if there is any poly culture there it is highly closeted. I think PEI had it's first gay pride parade only very recently. It was the second to last province to provide protection for sexual orientation... and that was less than a decade ago.

I see you sell PEI the same way I sell the University of Ottawa. I do not make the ambassadors jobs any easier when they explain things like "Work study positions pay $10-$12 an hour" and I break out laughing as I walk past the group.

It is an excellent place to live if you fit in there and those who do fit in there consider it the earthy equivalent to the garden of eden.
I don't.
Your sexual orientation and lifestyle may be an issue there. Not that it is a province of biggots... it isn't... but alternate life styles are closeted there and everyone gossips. Social status matters. I'm not exactly sure how it is treated. Most people never talk about it.
As a note... two gay men from there that I am friends with... both left... one won't go back even to see his family. The other will drink to be able to cope with going home to the Island.
