Can anyone tell me the significance of marking a used car as "lady driven" or "owned by a woman"?

I can't figure out which stereotype that's supposed to play off of.

Since i always look for unusal examples, it might be the stereotype of women possessing general cleanlyness superior to men. Maybe.

I'll be honest... I used to proverbially live in my mom's car when I worked two jobs... it was filthy. Not to mention I drove it hard, and the only thing good about my ownership skills was that I would sometimes change its oil.

I wouldn't buy a car from me.

Like i said: stereotype. Never said it was accurate. :P

I remember to take my G2 exit I had to list how many hours of *highway driving* (400 series) I had done in the previous 12 months. I looked at the woman like "How am I supposed to know that?"

She forced me to figure it out

Because of the two jobs I had at the time required me to travel a lot, I had spent over 132 hours on the highway alone. Forget all the city driving.

It's a stupid and innacurate sterotype, but I think it's the one this is based on.

It is...The only thing I want to see on an add for a used car it..."taken care of meticulously" Driven lightly, low KM's... well maintained. I couldn't care less who drove it.

Ah, but this way they can decieve bigots without lying.

That's the little old lady who only uses the car for grocery-shopping on Sundays. Has now been replaced by the nymphomaniac who only used the back seat.

(As noted below, I'm guessing it's based on the assumption that women (young ones, at any rate) drive less and are safer drivers, which means the car is less likely to have been busted and repaired.)

usually means driven softy...but from what I hve noticed is that Woman put just as much wear on cars as men... In some cases more. My last girl friend...so harsh on her car....It drove me crazy (no pun intended).

On her's...She is the type...the is inconsiderate and does not care about the world around her. Oblivious to everything.

Well, if the lady in question had been my Mom, the phrase would have indicated the horn was beaten to death because she used to honk at stupid people so much. >;)

Guys are morons who act like morons and treat their cars like morons treat things.

The one that causes us to have lower insurance premiums.
