No wonder people never get around to marrying!

You pay for a marriage license, and then you pay for someone to solemnize the marriage, at which point you pay to have a marriage certificate, and god forbid someone changes their name.

They changed the rules on the name change, it costs money now to change the last name, albeit less if you do it in the first few weeks after you get married.

I'm just a little disturbed about how many times the government nails you for getting married.

You aren't allowed to change your name when you get married in Quebec. (At least no more than any person would be able to.)
