So I hung out with [livejournal.com profile] _blankstare_  and [livejournal.com profile] redeem147 this evening. I think I forgot to thank her for the lasagna, which was quite good. I stayed a little later that i should have, but I figured leaving at the same time as [livejournal.com profile] tibialmusician when she came to get the ferrets would be a good time. (This is a run-on sentence). So Matt shows up around 1:15am to say plans have changed (those who know why, that's great; for those who don't, it's not really any of our business). So I decide to head out around then, and luckily my car was neither impounded nor ticketed. So I head up Islington to get back on the 401 to go home and disover the on-ramp is closed.

CLOSED!?!

I don't know anything on this end of the city. I know everything up to the DVP and downtown Toronto. Oh. shit.

So I drive north (after a slight, unmarked, detour). I know that my house is a little bit north and a lot east from here. So I go north, and find no streets I recognize, so at a more major looking intersection, I take a right. The road ends, so I take a left. I go up a while and I see a largish looking intersection and I resolve to make another right to be heading, presumably, east. ISLINGTON?!? I make the right and drive a little and see Finch. I know Finch, and I make a left. And I see a teeny sign 15 minutes later that says "Peel". I'm in Missisauga. Shit. I U turn and go back to the 427 I passed and go "South", which took me to the 409, to the 401. Apparently you can drive on the 401, you just can't get on. I was getting pretty tired too, had things gone properly, I would have been home by 2am, not 3am.

Total time to [livejournal.com profile] _blankstare_ 's place: 20 minutes (+20 minutes in circling to park)
Total time home: 90 minutes (+2 minutes to finish singing obnoxiously in the car)

Glad you got home alright
when you head back to Ottawa.... if you take the 401, make sure to wave at exit 526, after about 2 hours driving east. heh

The bus actually takes a bit of a milkrun through Tweed to Belleville, but I did think about you on the way down when I hit Belleville

So how'd you get along with my mom?

And finch goes east/west, so turning right on it would have gotten you in the right direction.

Problem was I got turned south and started heading to Mississauga instead of Pickering. Yes, I was willing to take the longest drive home to Pickering ever on Finch.

I understand about being lost. I've done that a few times. It seems being in a city completely kills any sense of direction I have.

I just hate it when the roads curve. I honestly was tempted to drive back to lianna's, park the car and take the fricking subway home, it would have been faster.
