I took Pebbles to the vet again since she's been lethargic and won't eat. She also had pink eye and nose crusties and a slight cough.

The good news is her lungs sound clear, and I had been taking care of her eyes well.

I followed our Vet's directions, and wouldn't you know that Pebbles hasn't been eating because she couldn't smell her food. That's right, she's lost 2 kilos in 2 weeks because she couldn't smell the kibble in her bowl.

We now have to pour hot water over her kibble so that it becomes more fragrant until she feels better.

Hey, at least it works, and she perked up after a cup and a half.

I'm glad she's feeling better!

Now both our puppies need soaked food...

Poor Pebbles......

What also helps with putting weight back on is peanut butter sandwiches. Or macaroni with a bit of margarine & granulated garlic mixed in.

But if you have any questions you can always call my mom. 1(705)853-1258

Re: Poor Pebbles......

Thanks... we had her up to a whopping 42lbs before she got sick, so her current weight of 38lbs isn't awful and she's still in the "healthy" weight range.

I'm going to take down your mom's number again though.

I would not give Garlic to a dog!

ahh yaa I feel sorry for dogs, dry kibble everyday would suck. If it had no smell that would suck even more! I give zeus a bit of raw carrot every day and some chicken skin, bits of bacon and odd scraps from dinner a few times per week in his kibble to give it some flavor. I also switched to a dehydrated dog food called cani-source, over the boiled/baked and fried stuff as it is healthier, he eats less and gets more out of it and his poo is not as smelly or plentiful.

Maybe you should bake some doggie cookies -http://www.dogandcollar.com/dog_recipes.htm

Pebbles has unidentified food allergies, so we have to be careful what we feed her.

She definitely gets whatever James gives her, which is usually leftovers from his dinner, (meat and veggies mostly).

She's on a food that is kibble, but it's basically salmon and potato period. I've also noticed that she has much smaller bowel movements (She came with a bag of Ol' Roy, I switched her to Purina One, which was a vast improvement, and Potato and Salmon D/d is another step up).

I've been looking for dog cookie recipes because she can't eat the normal ones. Thanks!
