I keep trying to make things better, but I keep getting kicked and forced down again. I've really had enough.

Canada Revenue reassessed my return and I owe them $900 dollars.

Long story as to how this happened, but I think the Government was supposed to issue 2 T4s last year, and only sent me 1... and I assumed that both Health Canada and CBSA would have been included on the same T4, but I'm guessing they weren't, and that also means that Public Works failed to issue both T4s to me. And I should have checked my paystubs against the amount on the T4 but between the move and the birth, I didn't, and just when Josh and I though things were starting to look good, we get another kick in the junk.

You are one of the most resilient people I know. I believe you will prevail.

2008 has been a kick in the junk year for us too. More shit keeps happening...

James is the best thing out of it.

James would be the best thing out of any year though :)

Although he does sometimes kick me in the junk.

He's cruising the furniture and is smoother with his walking motions when you hold his hand, and he makes leaps between furniture, and despite taking some nasty falls, he's not deterred.

He has also learned how to go from standing to sitting in a more elegant and intentional manner that doesn't involve falling flat on his arse.

The tax problem is balls, but compared to what a lot of folks go through with their taxes, it's still fairly tame. You guys will get through it. For next year, consider asking a financially savvy friend to look over your returns--you may be able to take a couple of deductions that you didn't know you were eligible for.

This in itself is not so bad, it's just heaped onto other problems we've been having which basically stem from having a child. I don't regret having James, but the government can't figure out why educated women don't want to have babies, do I ever have a case study for them!
