Marriage has obviously addled my brain.

For dinner, I made quiche, and for dessert, I baked a rhubarb pie, and a blueberry-rhubarb pie for zenten.

It's nice to know I can still bake well.

It's also a wonder that I'm not laid out on the kitchen floor seeing as it was probably close to 50C in there between the dishwasher and the oven.

I did mention we have no air conditioning, right?

Jeezus, why not just forge steel and get it over with....

Ah well, you're tough I'll give you that, I'd be half ground down and sweating like a Senator at an Oversight Hearing....

The dishcloth was more for wiping my brow than my hands, that was for sure

I DO NOT cook in summer...our kitchen is always 5 degrees hotter than the living room...If I could, I would eat the goddam houseplants rather then set foot in that kitchen...and the bathroom! Oh My...

I would like to point out for the audience that my total amount of convincing her on this was her asking me last week (when it wasn't stupid hot) if I would like some rhubarb pie, and me saying yes, as well as me saying yes last night to her question of "Would you like quiche for dinner", after she had already started the pie.

I'm biting the bullet and buying a couple of A/C units for my house. This humidity is warping the doorframe in my bedroom.

Trying to resists buying an AC as well. I decided to get some sleep early in the evening when it was still tolerable, woke up, ate some food, hung out with Dan, then cleaned the house at like 11pm... worked out well... lethargic while it's hot, active when it's cool.

I think what hurts most is I have a window unit, but no appropriate window to install it in

i have a unti, but i usually wait until i can't stand the heat anymore

however, this FIRST! heatwave is/was killing me...

well, i went outside, and while it wasn't *hot* it was sticky.

That's why I switched to a portable unit. Sure it's big and noisy and nowhere near as efficient as a window unit but at least it fits everywhere I move to ... and it has wheels meaning no hauling for me.
