The housewarming got off to a slow start, but had some good people and good conversation, a few noted absences, and a few unexpected surprises, and a late finish.

I'm always terribly nervous about throwing these sorts of things, and lately, I've been doing a lot of things half-assed, but with a good reason.

James also got a pretty good haul. I really wasn't expecting gifts, but James now has some awesome tactile toys and a playmat, some good books (including Pat the Bunny, much to Josh's delight) and some practical necessities as well, because you seriously cannot have enough washcloths with a new baby.

I also was not expecting leftover food. At least I now have cut up veggies to snack on this week as I begin my first week alone tending to James.

I also didn't realize I had a guard dog until we moved to the house. She's pretty protective and barks at the new noises if she thinks someone uninvited is trying to get in the house. She means well.

We didn't make it due to being sick but once the sickness has gone we would like to come and pick on the baby!

We had a few cancellations due to illness, and we understand and appreciate it. Definitely give us a call and we'll arrange something.

Now, my notes on all things strange do indicate that you did not fully meet the agreed terms and conditions of regional event location scounting condition 4.20 sub-clause puff-puff-pass. Ergo, if we find James to be of suitable enjoyment factor, we are within our scientological rights to take said saproling? sproaling? shaolin? :) Or maybe we'll just come over and be social when the schedules work for both families. You can ask Maria, babies like us.

What were the rest of the terms again?

We could go for a site visit, but, if you would imagine, it's under 6 feet of snow. I spoke to the owner again, and she's cool with us setting up the dome and having a large bonfire with lots of people. I didn't tell her the people were in the bonfire... I mean...

I can't say I remember them exactly, which probably means they are null and void. You can keep your child if you tell me the origins of that saproling word or whatever you keep using. Both linguistic history and why you use it to describe James pre-birth? I have vague recollections of the word being used in the Magic: The Gathering trading card game eons ago (Revised Edition) when I used to play it. If you can tap James to attack, that would be pretty cool.

Sorry I missed it, am still getting over the flu so didn't want to infect anyone, especially a baby. People get really upset when you get thier kids sick.

I had a great time and it was awesome to meet everyone, 'specially baby James!

Thanks for the shin-dig!

Sorry I couldn't make it either - this flu really hangs about! All I know is that I was coughing so hard on Saturday I thought I was going to burst a blood vessel in my brain or blow out an eyeball.

So all in all, March is a much better time to visit, and I'm looking forward to it!

Hugs for the sprogling!
