Ugh.... I know this doesn't sound like a real problem... but it's going to be...

My pay advisor needs to stop paying me. Really. She keeps processing me as an active member of the labour force, meanwhile I've asked her not to pay me. I asked her not to pay me as of 2 paycheques ago. They're going to want the money back at some point and it's going to be a pain in the ass. This is also probably going to fuck with my EI.

How hard is it to comprehend the request "Don't give me more money"

I can understand this. With their weird policies when they pay you too much they need to take it all back at once.

They did that with my pay increment but it was only $400 ... two pay cheques could be really nasty.

Good luck.

Really, really nasty since my EI hasn't kicked in yet.

Carleton did the same thing when I worked as a sessional lecturer. They kept paying me as a TA even though I canceled my TA. The first pay contained two cheques (because Carleton withholds the first), so I was unaware of the problem until the end of January. I was told that at that point it would take 4 weeks to clear up the problem. Then, after receiving 4 pays I never asked for, I was order to repay the amount owing within 30 days for face serious consequences. Fortunately I was putting the unexpected money into a separate account so I was able to pay them back.

Normally I'd be more responsible about keeping the funds separate, but with zenten being laid off, the temptation to apply the funds to expenses is great.
