I was almost dead positive by the time I left the interview. The last half of the interview, the two women were verbally exploring how my skills would fit in with the team, and indicating that I had some skills that would correct some of the shortfalls they had encountered so far. People don't usually do that if you're striking out.
I also consented to being exploited. That might have helped.
Exploited? In what way? I tend to think of this as having a negative connotation, so for you to be ok with it must mean there is a good side to what they have proposed.
They meant that they plan to use the skills I already have to their benefit, even though it's not part of the job roles and responsibilities.
I prefer organizations that take the time to examine the skills of their employees and shift what people do based on who likes doing the task, and who is competent to perform the task, rather than what the job description reads.
