I may be looking at some new faces around here.

The temps have decided to revolt.

They are being *underpaid* by their agencies. In some cases they are.

There is a problem however. They are failing to understand that the contract between their agency and Health Canada, and the contract between the agency and them, have very little to do with each other.

Very few, if any, agencies will promise to pay you a percentage of the money they receive from the contract. They would like to pay you as little as possible to do the job in fact.

Knowing how much they're getting paid can give you a good idea of how much you can ask for. Askign for raises is a good thing.

Calling them up and threatening to take the contract to an agency that will pay you more will also not work. Your present agency will fire you, and never find you work again.

And about your present contract? The contract is between the employer and the agency, and the agency will find a new body to fit into your role.

We'll see if heads role.

And now, for a fire drill.

Temps dumb enough to say "I'll take the contract to another agency" are so dumb that you should be glad that they get fired. They're obviously too dumb to do any job more complicated than frying my food.
