At the car rental place this morning, the following exchange was held:

"So, we have a Yaris for you, or you can upgrade to a Dodge Dakota"
"I have no idea what either of those are"
"The Yaris is this car here, and the Dakota is that silver Pick-up truck"
"Umm... I'm driving to Toronto with a dog and luggage, I'll take the car"
"I bet your boyfriend would love riding in the Dakota"
"I bet you don't know my boyfriend"

As a subsequent note... I don't know whether the pick up with luggage in the back would have been better than this clown car I have...

Heh. I was thinking of buying a Yaris.

What did they give you, the 3 door Hatchback?

4 Door hatchback, but as it stand there is 0 legroom in the backseat (so I'm glad only the dog is going in there) and the headrests from the backseat almost touch the hatchback.

Did I mention I'm more or less driving with the wheel between my knees? I feel like a circus clown.

Other than that, it handles well.

Might be a better bet. Not fancy, but definitely car-sized.

i mean, do i WANNA spend a million bux on gas just to look like a fucktard?

(My dad's one of those fucktards)

I took that upgrade once. When I was camping 1 hour outside of Ottawa.

But for 4 hours of highway driving, plus city driving? I think not.

I remember working at a gas station and a Suburban would come in 3 times a week to fill up at over $100 a tank.. when gas was cheap! She spent more on gas in a week than I made in a week pumping it for her.

i guess the best thing i can say is that in Irvince, yer at the waterfront and have to drive for hours before yer even NEAR anything remotely not just roads and roads...

and plus too the parking spaces are tiny..

now if someone had a legitimate use of an SUV in Northern ontario... although i'd suggest they get a truck...
