People can make me so angry.

The f*cking sausage party over the cubicle wall were commenting on the homeless youth, probably in response to the article on page 3.

They started going on about homeless kids and how they are a bunch of insolent brats who all left hom because they have a problem with authority. That makes me angry.

What about queer kids getting kicked out for being queer?
Or kids being sexually, physically or emotionally abused at home?
What about kids tossed into foster care because they don't have families, and would rather not be a just a paycheck?

I'm just saying that everyone has their reasons, and it is so unfair to generalize. It just makes me angry that so many people live within the confines of their box, and see only a very limited side to the story.

Gah.

I'd be as equally annoyed as you with the people generalizing about the homeless.

I know a woman who CHOSE to go homeless while she was working. She was contributing to society despite the fact that she was living out on the streets. She told me it was one of the best choices she had ever made because it made her more rich than ever and she had flexibility since she didn't have to pay for 'rent' and so on. She had money to travel frequently because of being homeless.

I wish I had the guts to try this out for a little while.

Do you ever speak up when you come across people who make statements like this?

I was curious about that because you often talk about when people make statements like these in your LJ but I didn't know if you actually speak up when it happens. I highly respect you for challenging people!

Well, mostly because despite the fact that I speak out, I'm not sure how much people are listening.

A lot of people like life in thier little boxes, it allows them to not have to question anything or find the answers to those questions.

It's much easier to think you know what the answer is than to go out and see if you really do....we are odd creatures....

Hey, women had fewer teeth for centuries, only because no one ever bothered to count
