I would like to inform you all that half of the lights and electircal sockets are no longer functioning in the apartment (in a pattern that makes me question the wiring).

Clue 1. It's not the circuit breaker in the apartment.

Check back regularly for updates.

(PS, my computer has power, but [personal profile] zenten 's doesn't)

It's a good thing you are capable of sarcasm otherwise somebody would be dead.

Good luck... I hope it is nothing massive.

Does your a/c work? It's stupid hot out there... but we are supposed to have thunder storms tonight so that should help.

No A/C to start with.... and no fans either for 7 hours. We lost all power about 20 minutes after my post.

I suspect fuses and breakers.

Not YOURS, obviously.

Actually, have you had an ambulance outside your building recently? I might suspect somebody nailing up a picture and hitting power.

If you haven't seen an ambulance, you might want to tour the lower floors until you start smelling bacon.

I want to know what happened... we lost half the power to the apartment, then all, and then the lights went in the hall, and then they kept the electrician waiting 3 hours to let him into the room where this junk is dealt with.

Ah. How old is this building? Does your apartment have its own electrical panel?

This sounds like an electrician's new car.

I hope you can get things sorted out to your satisfaction relatively soon.
