Didn't hit my head. I am currently hoping I have a lymph node there, and this it too has decided to join its brothers and sisters and become inflamed randomly and for no good reason.
Over the past 3 years I've had lymph nodes all over from front and back neck chain, axilla and jaw swell up (usually on the left side)... I was hoping this was just another lymph chain I didn't know about... The nearest node that I know about for sure is about 2 inches away.
There is a Lymph node there (two actually, one on either side). I used to get flare ups of them occasionally. It's nothing realkly to worry about, unless you have an open wound, then just go to the doctor, and they'll give you some mild anti biotic cream to put on the cut.

but i'm fairly certain there's no lymph nodes located about the occipitus. wikipedia seems to agree with me about this, as well.
