Zombies kill my nerves. They really do.

Truth be told, I like stop-turn combat and similar methods. I'm fully deficient when it comes to first person shooters.

Goddamn zombies.

What game are you playing? Are you using modern weapons to kill said Zombu? Melee weapons?

Pull back. When in doubt, or feeling overwhelmed by multiple opponents, pull back. Re-select your terrain, fight on familiar ground and on your terms. Also, don't be afraid to stand beside doorways and whomp-em when they come around the corner. Dirty Pool is allowed after all, they are Zombu.

my problem is I'm having problem with
a) stick control that changes based on camera angle (I can and have run in circles simply by pushing the stick in the same direction)
b) pressure sensitive button attacks (and I'm a classic button masher)

Definitely deficient.

Oh CHRIST not dynamic perspective changes....auuuugh! When the hell are viddy game designers gonna learn to either put complete perspective control on the hands of the player or put the camera above and slightly to the rear of the protagonist and leave it there? *fumes*

Sometimes I can argue with it and make the camera swing wildly and madly about!!!

I grew up on old school Sega and Sega Genesis. If it's harder than Shinobi and Shining Path, it's a stretch for me.

X-Com looks kinda cool...

Damn you!!!

Did you end up going on a Village Pillage btw?

XCom is brilliant.

I've got a copy, and a loader to make it work in XP, if you want. I've got 2 as well, which is like 1 but *much* bigger, much darker, much longer, with maze-like maps, bad LOS, and enemies who can take your biggest hits and keep coming forever.

Which is to say, it's monumentally frustrating if you don't cheat, but if you do some cheating to fix the basic balance issues, it's quite a good game.

XCom 3 is a completely different game. I've got that one, too. XCom 4 was YET ANOTHER completely different game. I never played it.

I have spare time! I have a clean computer!

I think that would be cool to try for a while.
