Las night I washed my credit card and the numbers fell off.

Today I quit my job. I finish on Friday.

I have an interview at an engineering firm tomorrow.

Okay, the numbers didn't "fall off", the more melted flat into the rest of the card.

Today I decided that it was indeed time to quit when my boss renamed my entire file system and broke all the image linking to my files. He then could not remember precisely why he did it or what files I was supposed to be using. Quitting seemed to be an approriate response. If the relationship were interpersonal and not professional, I would have ditched it a lot sooner.

The engineering firm is at the very least closer to home. We'll see how it goes.

If all else fails, I'll enjoy the time off.

I quit because you started working next door :P
Essentially, the project has been going on too long, it's never going to be finished. He destroyed my file system today at 5:30 am making it impossible to effectively do my job. I believe in doing a professional job, and that doesn't work if you're the only professional in there. So I arranged to have my boss decline to renew my contract before he realized how screwed he was. I was also sick of unfounded lectures. I'll appreciate the time off in any case if the engineering gig doesn't pan out. I have plenty o' options.

And yes, they fell right off.

wow that's a lot of change all at once. congrats and a ton of luck. and what sort of detergent were you using it can't be eco-friendly if its breaks down plastic

I think it was the dryer actually as I had to extract it from the side of the dryer barrel once it was empty.

And yes, sometimes you need change. I mostly just need to get away from my job. Most places I've worked there for a long time and then it was just "time to leave". I don't really want to go, they don't want me to go, but it's time for me to move on. This place, I just want to "get away". It is doing nothing for my professional development except maybe helping me develop a little hypertension.
