I watched The Village last night.

[livejournal.com profile] zenten said that he had the movie spoiled for him, but he agreed to watch it with me anyhow. I'm sure he found some of my comments humourous since he knew the punchline. I managed to successfully avoid any and all spoilers in regards to the film.

As I watched it I kept thinking, and eventually saying, things like:

"They wouldn't have had a greenhouse like that"

"The exterior of the buildings are okay, but the interior of the buildings are far too modern"

"There is NO WAY they have enough kerosene to light all those lanterns as often as they do. They don't even have pigs to render tallow! For a village with no trade, there is no f*!#ing way that they are keeping themselves lit like that!"

"Do you know how much effort it would take to make a GRAVEL ROAD in the middle of nowhere? Someone would have to have used a pickaxe in 1897 to make the freaking gravel."

Then Ivy climbs the fence. Oh. It all made so much sense after that.

I would have hated to have been soured by an M. Night Shamyalan film.

The film had a good idea, it just wasn't very well done unfortunately :( ...

What was wierd, was it's a similar premise to a book I'm writing

A book I'm writing very slowly. It should be done by 2008.

heh, yeah that can be weird... Creed's song "My Own Prison" is very similar to a poem I wrote ... a little freaky, heh..

I was trying to write a novel... I don't think I'll be writing in it for some time now though :(

I had never had the urge to write one until now. Maybe it's all the editing I'e been doing or something.
