Identified but not solved

So my mysterious sex mishap has been identified as a cervical polyp. Yay. I still have to run other tests to make sure it's not something else more fun like cancer. It's probably the polyp. Bad news... My appointement to have it looked at by a professional is MARCH 8, 2005!?! WTF? Am I the only person not cool with this?

No. But the people who can do something about it are, sadly, cool with it, so there's not much you can do. Sadly, your best options are probably calling the office and specifically asking to be notified of any appointment vacancies that open up (because maybe someone else will have to cancel) and calling them back sooner than immediately if anything changes.

...I realize these are probably things you're planning on doing already. Sorry. I'm currently (1) geeking on health and (2) procrastinating.

Fair enough. It just drives me nuts that I've seen her before and she knows I've had precancerous cells. People die of Cancer in 4 months. *grr* I'm mostly just frustrated. Luckily chances are it's not cancer. Bad news is it still doesn't fix the "no sex allowed" part.

People do die of cancer in four months--believe me, I know--but (unless you've been not letting on about some noticeable symptoms in social situations, which is entirely reasonable) often they don't come across as being as healthy as you. As long as your doctor stays up-to-date on your situation, your odds are probably pretty good.

If you're seriously stressed about it--which is sure as hell understandable--ask your doctor if they have any recommendations for where you can go to get a second opinion, and then (regardless of what they say) go get a second opinion.

As to the no sex allowed part, fingers and tongues may still do handy things. ;)

Unfortunately there have already been bad mishaps with fingers. Really, nothing kills the mood faster than "Oh, you're covered in blood"... well, for most people anyway lol.
I guess my scepticism with the medical system comes from my being very familiar with it and realizing that even the best doctors don't always leaf through your 74 pages of medical history to find that relevant precursor. I learned quite a few years ago that the best person to keep me healthy is me. I'm the one that remembers my medical background, not the guy (or girl) working 60 hours a week and seeing 300 patients in that time. Time to send reminders.
