Alright

I've essentially given up on my Biology degree. If I do it, it will be someplace easier, like Carleton and not right now.

So, I basically want to DO a little business part time, or maybe work towards my English honours

Business Certificate (if they accept me) remaining to complete: 27 credits
Honours English (if they accept me, which they should) remaning to complete : 45 credits

Any thoughts?

Edit:
I should mention that I am graduating shortly from concentration English

Sorry to hear you're dropping the Bio. And, most people think the Carleton program's harder than the Ottawa one. So, maybe that's not your best option.

Oh wait, it looks like they just fucked up their online stuff. It looked like they upped the credits from 132 to 167, but now that i'm checking it again, they haven't... hmm

it will still take me 56 credit to graduate and the problem is they don't offer evening courses and i really wnt to work full time.

Ottawa is pretty rough on its requirements to graduate.

*blinks* You guys have a different credit system. I need 20 credits for a 4-year Science honours program.

[identity profile] jagash.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they get additional credits for labs. *shakes fist in jelousy*

[identity profile] waterspyder.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
it's like a per hour requirement. 3 credit course is 3 hours a week of class. labs are 2/3 so 3 hours of lab is 2-3 credits, 8 hour labs are 5 credits.

[identity profile] waterspyder.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Think 44 courses to graduate.

[identity profile] jagash.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
One semester of one class (including labs tutorials ect) = 0.5 credits
Full course load: 2.0 - 2.5 credits a semester
20 Credits (8 semesters fulltime) is an honours program.

So, a tv broadcast of a 3 hour lecture is 0.5 credits. So is the 3 hour lecture + 4 hour lab for Biochemistry. My 26 hours a week was of identical value as the 15 hours a week of some arts students.

That sucks. I at least got more credits in Science when i was doing 28 hour weeks for 5 classes compared to my current 15 hour weeks.

Standard one semester class is 3-4 credits, although it can be lower (for bird courses and purely lab classes), and I think can theoreticaly go higher.

[identity profile] zenten.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had 1 and 2 credit classses, didn't get any above 4, although I guess this probably depends on your program.

[identity profile] waterspyder.livejournal.com 2005-04-07 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I had none under 3 and one worth 7.

*shrugs*

Bio is weird.

you're in 3 programs? how the hell do you pull that off? lol

lol
Long story involving an attention defecit problem. I like to keep options open.

Ultimately that's your face in the mirror in the morining, so do whatever you want to to make sure you can look at that face with pride. If that no longer includes Biology, hey, that's cool ya know?

I'd be happy to stop now for a bit and i may just do that
