"It's the hormones" really doesn't offer me a lot of consolation lately. Unfortunately I've come down with a bit of depression and anxiety. Apparently, this is common in pregnancy.  [personal profile] zentenis doing his best to help me with it, but it's hard. Part of me wants to go out and do things, but I don't think I'd be good company.

I really should have fought my doctor on sending me on maternity leave so early. My plan was to go off on maternity leave beginning Monday, and you know... I'm in fine physical shape to have worked to the end. Work gives me a sense of purpose and the chance to socialize with people. I also really need the structure of having regular activities to accomplish. Now, all I have done for a month is camp out in the apartment and contemplate my navel (which I can no longer see). It's not good. I mean seriously, what do they expect pregnant women to do all day around the house? I can't even put socks on my own feet. I can definitely understand how Oprah and soap operas get to be so popular, however, I cancelled the TV a couple months ago.

The baby will be here soon, and I had signed up for a bunch of courses months ago, so at least I'll be out of the house with other new moms five days a week for one hour a day. I really hope that will help. I'm also taking two University courses. It'll be like "me" time.  Originally the plan was also to use this time for Josh to be alone with the baby, but that may not be as much of a concern due to the employment issue.

I really hope a lot of this resolves itself after we move. I mean, even the dog is feeling the stress and I'm just doing my best to not get mad at her because she's just responding to this very chaotic time.

I think I'd feel less anxious if I knew when the sprogling was planning on making his grand entrance.

I should just go clean out the storage closet.

Yeah. That sounds about right.

I used to go to movies in the afternoon, but they used to be cheaper.

I should consider renting some movies... I don't think I've seen a new movie since sometime in the summer.

BTW... The Mongoose Diaries is excellent

I'm so glad. I've known James since he was in High School. He met Erin online (it can happen).

Josh was very glad to know he wasn't the first husband to narrowly escape death by comparing his wife's bellybutton to an oven timer.
