(no subject)

I've had a good start to the day

The dog has been walked.
The dishes have been done.
I have a table of contents set out for each of the three project I have to be mostly done by the end of the weekend.

[personal profile] zenten is away for the weekend, and so it's nice to have the bed to myself for a bit, but I do miss him. bah. I feel like inviting someone over, but that would be very bad for my schoolwork plans. This is definitely the first time I've managed my time so poorly for a course. Okay, maybe high school. I'm now doing damage control on the assignments.

I'm also really thinking of getting a car very soon. I grew up as a suburbanite. I need a car. I've tolerated my carless state for almost 6 years, but I miss hiking and nature walks and making it places 75% faster than the damn bus. I know how much gas, parking and insurance is going to be (roughly), but I have no idea what monthly lease payments are going to be like.

Mental note: I have to renew my license this week.

I also showed my computer some love yesterday with a virus scan, ad scan and a spyware scan, with a defrag to finish. I may not have to repave after all. I will have to make the guest and other user accont on the computer more idiotproof. I run XP with IE as my browser, but I also know how to browse the internet with those things and not get infected. Linux/Firefox users have no such tactical skill. Yes I need XP. IE7 is about to find itself replaced on my computer because as [personal profile] zentenputs it... the new Firefox looks more like IE than IE does now.

March 11-17 will be very much welcomed. Except if I get the new job. Then it'll be welcomed, but not for the same reason.

I'm obviously procrastinating.

Nice thing about friends is that when you come and visit some of them, they would be more than happy to contribute to your gas....

Oh Gus, the $2 in gas it would take me to get over there is negligible. It's the $175/month in insurance that makes me gag.

Yeah, you got a point there, but still, even the most deadbeat among us can sometimes cough up when you least expect it.

I miss you too.
