Grrr.

I do not want to go to the hospital.

Stubborn vs. Health Conscious...

I hope Health Consious wins... what's up?

I had a small blister on the back of my leg that itched lots, and now I have a big, hard, red, swollen circle almost 3 inches across and it itches and is warm.

And I don't want to spend half the night in the hospital for someone to tell my I have a mosquito bite or something.

Three inches across sounds serious.

There has been something weird going on with the mosquitos this year. I usually don't react much to mosquitos (I itch like a sonofabitch with black fly bites) but this year all my mosquito bites are turning into swollen hardish red blotches that take a month to heal. I'm not sure what is up.

My mosquito bites are normally like that, and this is odd... and the Telehealth nurse said I should go within 3 to 4 hours

It's just such a pain in the ass

Then you had better go... if it is a bad allergic reaction it could get worse.

it's been 24 hours and my leg hasn't fallen off yet.

I should also mention I am monitoring the spread now.

*shrug* Then you probably know best whether or not to go to the doctor immediately or wait until tomorrow. I'd go see the doctor at some point if only to get something to help it heal.

Good luck... If it is actually an alien hatchling growing in your leg I'll read about it in the newspaper tomorrow.

Seriously though.. I hope it doesn't drive you nuts worrying about it.

If it is getting worse i'd go see that doctor, hell with symtoms like that I might go see someone anyway.

I hope is isn't too serious.

So what did you decide to do? Are you feeling any better today?

I took some benadryl and the red spot has receded a little.

Ah. That is good and avoids the long wait at the hospital. :)
