Why do government servers have to suck!

Because otherwise we could actually get our work done on time.

*grumbles*

randomly, it just goes offline!

I expect this from my server at home (which happens to be more reliable), but GAH!

That's probably because I don't touch my server most of the time. Or maybe the servers at work are running windows.

Although my server has actually been ok, my email has not. I am most annoyed...

must call IT....

I wonder if they would've taken that as an excuse...

Would've made last week a lot easier to cope with, certainly.

Because everything the government owns was provided by the lowest bidder and has the cheapest support contract possible supporting it.

Because the people running those servers are not the people being PAID to run those servers.

No, really.

All of Industry Canada was openly accessible, with full root privileges, from the web in November 2004. The admins were notified, but didn't seem to do anything about it.

Which branch of IC are you talking about? There are endless branches, offices and departments to Industry, all of them running on different servers.
