I was told I should inform people that I am graduating tomorrow. I can't figure out if it's just because it's not a big deal to me, or if I just thought everyone knew.

It will be the most boring ceremony of my life. I have this on good authority.

Preliminary congratulations.

I'm terrified of going to my graduation ceremony next year because of my avoidant personality, lol...

Coffee would be quite cool... Monday? No wait, you're working... I think I derailed my brain... I know I meeting soemone at 9am... I want to try to make it to the gym.. oh right, I think there is pumpkin carving at 2:30pm that I want to indulge in. Monday could still work?

I don't have to, but there is something psychological about forcing your parents to sit through the ceremony to prove to them that you did indeed graduate.

Well, there's a limited number of tickets, and my parents have come down to visit, so they're taking me and Josh out to lunch tomorrow.

The whole point of convocation is to give you a sense of closure, a feeling of sucessful acheivement, but it's mostly for the guests who attend, which gives them a formal atmosphere in which to celebrate your accomplishments.

Well, when they know I can forge most documents.... having a couple thousand people in a room, while not beyond my means, is a bit beyond my effort level and my parents know this

congrats, i feel terrible for my memory, this is for your english, or have i been doing drugs and it is the biology?
Hope at least there are some good jokes or anecdotes to make your convocation lighter and more memorable.

Confrimation - Yes, It IS the most boring 3 hours of your life!

Bring on the funerals, b/c they look like Super Bowl parties compared to this comatose inducing, lacklustre event!

Tip - I brought my PDA with me & played Atari games for the ENTIRE ceremony! It was FANTASTICALLY tolerable!

Congrats all the same!

Josh asked me if it would be declassé to bring a book. I told him "Yes but for the sake of your sanity, bring one, or maybe two. Heck, do my parents a favour and get them each one. I got them aisle seat tickets at the back so they can leave and come back whenever they like. It's your job to find them and help my mom take a picture."
