The phone keeps ringing... but it's not the job.
It's people trying to sell me things ("Is the man of the house home?" "How about you go fuck yourself and thanks for your time")
or sign me up for more cable services (No, I work full time and go to school full time, I don't need mroe television channels because frankly, my birds don't care what they watch)
or for bundles (Yes I realize i could be saving $3/month, but I have no idea what I'll be doing for 3 years)
or the Government asking me how to do things at the job they haven't renewed my contract for yet (*scowl*)
I'm going to guess my mother is sick since she sneezed on her work message that says she won't be back until when she gets back into the office. I guess it's almost time for me to go outside.

Another marketer asked for Mr. Kerry Chalmers today. I know my name is unisex, but if you don't know, don't assume.

They all sound mortified when I ask to be called Miss as it is my preferred appelation. This is likely since Miss has been rmeoved from many forms, including theirs.

*blinks* But aren't you flattered that they, you know, actually assumed you might be a man?

Eugh. I don't know. Grind up a few normative assumptions about gender, season with a little Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, and I blow a gasket. It's well beyond issue and into volume territory for me, though it's mellowed slightly in the last...

...dammit. Six years. I'm getting old.
