Contract Opportunity

The University of Ottawa seeks to engage a webpage designer to update the University of Ottawa website located at www.uottawa.ca/student/glbtq. The requirements for this project are as follows:

 

1. The website should be completed and launched prior to September 1, 2005.
2. The payment for this contract will be paid as a lump sum within one week of completion in the agreed upon amount prior to contract start.
3. A completion bonus of $100 will be included if the website is completed on time.
4. The website must include the following features
1. A Macromedia Flash splash page
2. French and English websites which contain about 20 pages each
3. Simple and obvious navigation
4. A clean and professional look
5. Be easy to update by someone with little experience in webdesign
6. Be compatible with Dreamweaver 4.0 or MX, though 4.0 is preferred.
7. have the ability to have images present on the page that can be changed or inserted by someone with little to no experience.
5. Content will be provided by the University of Ottawa Pride Centre
6. Designers will have access to translation at no charge to themselves
7. The Service Director will have final approval on the website.

 

The successful candidate

1. is fluent in either French or English, though bilingualism is an asset.
2. must be available for training prior to August 20, 2005.
3. must be able to reasonably complete the website prior to September 1, 2005, barring unforeseen circumstances.
4. should have a portfolio available.
5. has a professional demeanour.
6. is capable of working with the Internal Coordinator and Service Director.
7. be capable of making regular updates to the Service Director and/or Internal Coordinator
8. is queer-friendly.

After reviewing the magnitude of the project, how much would you charge for the entire project?

Keeping in mind the magnitude of the project, I would have to say 1000 as a low end estimate. We can further discuss this on email or/and msn if you like, or even in person.

I am also keeping in mind of the fact the site to be simple as well, and easy to update via notepad and dreamweaver, otherwise easy automated updating would cost more to achieve. Anyway, something to discuss...

Oh and what does this mean " b. must be available for training prior to August 20, 2005.", and when do you hope to get the project started? Hope it is not August 20th.

Nope, it will hopefully be going before then, but that's when I leave the country.
